We are the association for Stockholm’s iGEM team, being mostly made of alumni of the competition. Our main mission is to make sure that we can have a team of students taking part in the iGEM competition each year, and to provide support in the form of education and coaching. We also organise get-togethers for the team as well as alumni, fostering a tightly-knit community of synthetic biology lovers in Stockholm and internationally.
However, as our ambitions rise and we are able to accumulate resources that start to resemble courses and workshop moments, we aim to make more of our work available to a broader audience. Our goal is to be a middle ground between students, universities and companies in the life science sector, in Stockholm and Sweden for now.
SGEM is a non-profit organisation with its headquarters in Stockholm.
